Mike Epps, a community favorite and beloved comedic talent, bossed up in a major way recently by earning his high school diploma. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High in his Indianapolis hometown.
Nobody was prouder than his mother.
The school gave Epps some time to address his graduating class and the rest of the student body. He spoke to them about cherishing their accomplishments and taking nothing for granted. He reminisced about the time in his life when he took his education for granted.
“Now that I’m 45 years old, my beautiful mama is sitting in the audience, she told me when I was younger, she said ‘Mike, one day you’re gonna wish you’d got your education.’ And I didn’t understand it.”
Luckily, through hard work and dedication, it’s all come full circle for him later in life.
Back in Hollywood, Epps is as busy as ever. His new sitcom Uncle Buck is set to premiere on June 14th at 9 p.m. on ABC. He’s also playing the legendary father of modern comedy, Richard Pryor, in a biopic with costar Oprah Winfrey to be released during 2017.
