Mike Epps is the epitome of a multi-hyphenate. Actor, comedian and producer, the Indianapolis native is also a father of six, most recently welcoming a son with this wife of two years Kyra Robinson Epps.

"It was hard. When you meet somebody that’s so beautiful like Kyra, joy makes me cry," he said on The View in 2019 about their June wedding where The Fighting Temptations star choked back tears during his vows.

A successful woman in her own right, not much is known about Epps' spouse, except for her work as a television producer. Based on what's publicly available about the Chicago-native, read on to see what we found about the veteran personality.

1. Robinson Is An Exec At The Oprah Winfrey Network

According to The Cinemaholic, Epps and Kyra met at an airport “sometime in 2017.” After a couple years of dating, the duo tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by the likes of Snoop Dogg and T.I. in June 2019.

Kyra is no stranger in the entertainment industry. A seasoned employee at the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), her LinkedIn profile reveals she served as a producer on Iyanla: Fix My Life and Just Keke. She’s even earned an NAACP Image Award for her work.

2. Her Love Of Journalism Began In College

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Out in March 2018, the Columbia College Chicago graduate opened up about how and where her love of journalism started.

“I knew I loved journalism, writing and producing, so I participated in a program at my school called Semester in L.A. With this program, they allowed students to come to L.A. and get hands-on experience, so I worked at Paramount Studios and Raleigh Studios in L.A. for three to four months.”

It was at age 21 when Kyra realized she wanted to develop her own television programs, which explains her transition to OWN.

She continues: “I created a show called, It Girl Chicago, and pitched it to my friend who worked at OWN. She ended up showing her friend at WME, and they wanted me to fly to L.A. I literally had nothing. I had three companies wanting to work with me. I ended up working with Candi Carter, who worked with Oprah and who’s currently the executive producer of The View. From that point on, my career took off.”

3. The Couple Welcomed Their Second Child In October

Already parents to 20-month-old daughter Indiana Rose, Epps and Kyra welcomed a son in October.

"Son, we prayed for you!!! You have officially rocked our world. Mama loves you so much,” Kyra captioned on Instagram, adding a blue heart emoji.

When the Epps announced the happy news of a second child in June, Epps added that he hoped it was a boy.

“God bless My beautiful wife ???? we prayin 4 a son ????????????????,” the 51-year-old wrote on his personal page.

Epps has four daughters from previous relationships, including two with ex-wife of 11 years Mechelle McCain.

4. She Is A Staunch Advocate For Black Women In Decision-Making Roles

As a Black woman in the entertainment industry, Kyra understands how important it is to have representation. In the same feature with Rolling Out, she praised other Black women paving their own paths for success in the trade.

“As a Black woman in a position of power, it’s our leadership and voice that shapes the culture, which is a big responsibility. If we have more Black women that have influence, we would see a substantial change in our community. If we have the voice, then we have the power. Hopefully, we can change the trajectory of the conversation because trailblazers like Issa Rae, Shonda Rhimes, and Ava DuVernay are doing an exceptional job at moving the culture forward."

Though many were likely first introduced to her a couple years ago, Kyra Robinson Epps is proving she was always a name worth remembering, Hollywood husband or not.
