Over the last few weeks, fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP) franchise have been overjoyed, to say the least. Sure, the thought of bearing witness to any sort of resolution between the various issues that have plagued the Potomac divas is tantalizing, but there’s more. When news broke that award-winning rapper Nicki Minaj would take part in hosting the season six reunion special, social media went into an uproar. The news, unsurprisingly, sent fans of both the franchise and musician in an uproar.
To commemorate the epic moment, we’ve decided to compile a list of the eleven most outrageous reality television moments that have happened at reunion specials.
1. Monique Samuels’ Binder
To kick this list off, we must revisit an epic moment in RHOP’s history—Monique Samuels’ binder full of receipts. Samuels came locked and loaded with a well-manicured cluster of receipts to combat the shady rumors that her castmates had been swirling around regarding her marriage.
2. When Nene Leakes Said What She Said
Raise your hand if you’ve ever been questioned on something you said and stood ten toes down on, in defense of yourself. Nene Leakes should raise both of her hands as her infamous “I said what I said” line remains a cultural artifact to this day.
3. Porsha Williams vs. Kenya Moore
The art of “dragging” took a new form in this particular reunion special of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA). A war of words quickly transitioned into a war of hands as castmates Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore engaged in a full-on melee. It’s giving “act up, you can get snatched up.”
4. Trina’s Outburst on Love and Hip Hop: Miami (LHHMIA)
Trina is known for being many things, namely her moniker as “The Diamond Princess.” After this highly-energized reunion special of LHHMIA, she should be known as the clapback queen. Taking the chance to clear the air and offer clarity on her feud with another castmate, Trina’s outburst was seen around the world with many quotables reading Nikki Natural to filth.
5. Miss Quad, Miss Quad—She’s Got Props
"Miss Quad, Miss Quad, she’s got it, she’s got it!"— it being literal props in the first season reunion special of Bravo’s Married to Medicine. Miss Quad Webb cemented herself as a reality television icon when she pulled out faux speech bubbles with terms like “fraud” plastered on them in the midst of some of her castmates’ speaking portions.
6. Phaedra Parks’ Southern Hospitality
Phaedra Parks may be one of the top Atlanta attorneys, but that doesn’t mean she can’t teach a masterclass on shade. Embodying the class of a southern belle and the wit of fictional character Dominique Deveraux, played by Diahann Carroll in Dynasty, Parks did not come to play in this reunion special. The RHOA season six reunion saw Parks initiate a verbal smackdown like no other on castmate Kenya Moore.
7. Tiffany Pollard’s Entrance
Tiffany Pollard, arguably one of the queens of reality television, made her mark 15 years ago when she appeared as a castmate on Flavor of Love. Affectionately dubbed “New York” by the series’ host, Flavor Flav, the series saw the young starlet stir up loads of drama, culminating in a reality show entrance like none other.
8. Kandi Burruss-Tucker’s Tearful Discovery
The season nine reunion of RHOA got heated after a shocking revelation surfaced that left Kandi Burruss-Tucker and Porsha Williams in tears. After a nasty rumor swirled around for the duration of the season in which Burruss-Tucker, her husband and Williams were involved, it was discovered that Phaedra Parks was the culprit behind it. Burruss-Tucker’s response to the truth was an emotional reaction.
9. Cardi B Wanted To Know The Reason
Before Cardi B shot up to megawatt fame, she starred on Love and Hip Hop: New York where she had just as many viral moments as she does now. One of the most notable? When she got into a heated exchange with another cast member in which she lunged her shoe and, now famously, asked, “what was the reason?” for the animosity towards her.
10. Tanisha Thomas' 'Yo Momma' Joke Went Too Far
There cannot be a conversation on OG reality television reunion moments without mentioning the Bad Girls Club (BGC). The season two reunion special of the veteran reality television series got a bit heated when BGC alums Tanisha Thomas and Melissa 'Lyric' Greene got in an altercation. The steamy exchange was already simmering, as the two went back and forth about a previous incident while filming the show, but it steered towards violence when Thomas cracked a joke on Greene's mother. Yikes!
11. Meeka 'Liar' Claxton vs. Tami 'Hoodrat' Roman
Raise your hand if you've ever been granted a nickname that you found unfavorable. The Basketball Wives season three reunion special went up in flames as Meeka Claxton and Tami Roman's feud transformed into name-calling with some pretty interesting addendums. Claxton clapped back to Roman by deeming her "Tami 'hoodrat' Roman" in response to Roman calling her "Meeka 'liar' Claxton." It's the creativity for us!
