Brooklyn Nets forward Royce O’Neale doesn’t have any mercy for anybody on the basketball court, not even his own mother. O’Neale went viral on Saturday when he posted up his mother Deborah Kingwood during his basketball camp and dropped her on the floor before shamelessly proceeding to score the layup.
Kingwood appears to be holding her own initially as the NBA veteran posts up in the paint and tries to back her down. However, the situation took a wild turn when O’Neale spun away from his mother as she was leaning against him, causing her to lose her balance and tumble to the floor.
O’Neale paused for a few seconds to look back at his mother as she remained on the floor. The shameless son then continued to shoot anyway.
After making the basket, O’Neale stood over his mother and raised his hands in victory formation. He then picked her up and the two laughed together, along with others at the camp.

The reactions to O’Neale’s merciless game continued on Instagram when other NBA stars also chimed in.
“Naaaa lemme get the belt bruh imma whoop you for her,” Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell wrote.
Kingwood also shared the video on her Instagram Story.
“I’m famous,” she wrote.
Kingwood talked about her son’s journey to the NBA when she sat down for an interview with the Utah Jazz, O’Neale’s former team, in 2018.
The proud mother said her son stayed determined despite going undrafted.
“I tell ‘Royce keep working hard because when it’s the right time and the right fit, you’ll be called,'” Kingwood said.
After spending two seasons overseas, O’Neal got an offer from the Jazz. Kingwood reflected on the moment when her son called her to reveal the news about signing with the Jazz.
“He called and said ‘I got some bad news and good news,'” she told the Jazz media team. “He said ‘the bad news is you don’t get a chance to go visit Lithuania. The good news is we made it. I signed with the Jazz.'”
