An emerging internet challenge has left one teen in a critical condition in Memphis, Tennessee. According to Memphis Police Department, Sherman Lackland, 21, was playing the "No Lackin Challenge" in a cafe when he accidentally shot his friend.

In the "No lacking Challenge," each participant creates a fake fight and holds up a gun towards each other, however, no one is allowed to shoot. This game took a deadly turn when one friend accidentally pulled the trigger.

Ron Eanes, the restaurant manager told WREG-TV he saw the teens playing with guns before the shot went off.

"They were sitting there talking, and they started showing each other a gun and it accidentally went off," he said.

Lackland now faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a handgun. He was jailed on a $25,000 bond and a hearing is scheduled for February 2.

For some reason or another, internet challenges such as this tend to gain traction. So being proactive is key. It is important to discourage these violent games before more teens die. Police in Memphis,  are speaking out against the challenge and encouraging teens not do this to take part in more positive activities.
