Before she joined the cast of the upcoming season of Misfits, Karla Crome played a teenaged orphan being cared for by a transgendered assassin in Sky Atlantic's dramatic series Hit & Miss.
Chloe Sevigny and Reece Noi also star in the series.
Hit & Miss, in a nutshell:
Mia is a contract killer with a secret: she's a transgender woman. After a young life where she never quite fitted in, Eddie, an underworld linchpin, took Mia under his wing and created a brilliant assassin.
But Mia's life is turned upside down when she receives a letter from her ex, Wendy, who reveals that she's dying from cancer – and that when they were together Mia fathered a son, 11-year-old Ryan. Now Mia is his legal guardian.
Travelling to a tiny village in West Yorkshire to see the boy, Mia meets the rest of Wendy's farmhouse clan: 16-year-old Riley, 15-year-old Levi, and six-year-old Leonie.
Hit & Miss follows Mia's attempts to mix her killer instincts with her new maternal ones, in a search for her own identity. A lethal killer at the heart of a troubled family in the middle of nowhere is where the series begins.
The series has already aired in the UK, but has its July 11 US premiere on DirecTV. For those who missed its initial airing in the UK– and for those who don't have DirecTV– Hit & Miss is now available on region 2 DVD.
Crome and Noi have both been highly praised for their performances as siblings Riley and Levi, respectively, the elder of four siblings being looked after by Sevigny's character, Mia.
While Crome is a relatively new actress in her first big role, many will recognize Noi from TV programs like Father and Son, in which he starred alongside Dougray Scott, Sophie Okonedo, and Wunmi Mosaku. Even more will remember Noi as bad-assed Earl Kelly from his stint on popular high school drama Waterloo Road.
