If you missed it while it was in theaters – and based on its box office tally, many of you apparently did – you should know that Sparkle has been released on Blu-ray and DVD (yesterday) – a film we've covered quite extensively since it was first announced.

A remake of the 1976 film of the same name, Sparkle stars Jordin SparksWhitney HoustonCarmen EjogoTika SumpterDerek Luke, and Mike Epps, and was shepherded by Salim and Mara Brock Akil.

TriStar opened the $14 million film on 2,200 screens, and it went onto gross just under $25 million.

The DVD will include extra features like a commentary by director Salim Akil, and two doc featurettes: A Dream Come True and A Tribute to Whitney Houston.

The blu-ray will include all of that, plus two more addtional doc featurettes – Sparkle & Shine, A Sparkling Performance – as well as a Celebrate music video with Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks.

Also new on DVD and Blu-ray is Men In Black 3

It's Men In Black; not much else to say… other than maybe the one obvious change this time around being that it's in 3D.

You're either with the MIB universe or you're not; I thought it was an unnecessary 3rd film, almost ten years after its predecessor, and fifteen years after the release of the original Men in Black.

Of the 3 MIB movies, it performed the weakest, by far, when you adjust for inflation, the box office results of the first two movies in the franchise. So, I suppose we could say that word-of-mouth wasn't strong.

But if you didn't see it, you can do so now, in the comfort of your home.

Blu-ray Special Features include: Spot the Alien Game; The Evolution of Cool: MIB 1960s vs. Today; Keeping it Surreal: The FX of MIB; Four Scene Investigations; and more.
