A tweet from Nicole Ari Parker just a few minutes ago. Obviously, the hash-tag is what I’d like to draw your attention to. The hash-tag (for those unfamiliar with Twitter) being #justjoinedcastofVipaka, and @justsanaa being Sanaa Lathan’s Twitter handle.

Vipaka, if you’ve already forgotten, is the voodoo-themed psychological thriller that Forest Whitaker, Anthony Mackie, and Sanaa Lathan are already attached to star in, announced last week, which will shoot in New Orleans, Louisiana, starting this week.

So, I suppose we can take this as confirmation that Nicole Ari Parker has joined the cast of the film, even though I haven’t read any official announcements yet. Although, she doesn’t say what exactly her role in the film is.

Busy times ahead for Ms Ari Parker, with the recent announcement that she’s going to star opposite Blair Underwood in the upcoming Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire, as Blanche Du Bois.

As a recap, Vipaka will center on 2 enemies who eventually go head-to-head in a match that will “test each man’s belief in what they’re certain is the truth.“

French/Lebanese director Philippe Caland (Boxing Helena) is directing.

With production beginning this week, looks like this is a done deal, and we should expect to see this in 2012.
