If you didn’t think Ciara and Russell Wilson could get any cuter, you were dead wrong.
The couple discussed their love with friend La La Anthony during an Instagram Live session last Friday. Anthony asked the question on everyone’s mind.
“What is your response when people ask you what is the prayer? That’s all people want to know,” Anthony said. According to the Power star, she’s prayed with Ciara several times and she doesn’t even know the prayer.
The “Goodies” singer emphasized she didn’t manifest her life in one prayer.
“People always say ‘The Prayer’ and it's not just one prayer, its multiple prayers,” Ciara said. “You have to think about exactly where you are and where you want to go. If you don’t have a vision about where you want to go you’ll just be shooting in the dark. You won’t get anywhere.”
Wilson pointed out no one asked about his prayers and what he did to snag his wife. Anthony agreed, and the Seattle Seahawks quarterback shared the five things he wanted in a life partner.
"Nobody ever really asks me what was the prayer for me," Wilson said playfully.
"Okay, bro, what was the prayer for you," Anthony responded while laughing.
"I remember being in this space of what do I want, what am I really looking for. I wanted a relationship, a long-lasting relationship. I wanted love, I wanted kids, wanted family. I didn’t want perfection, I wanted the perfect thing for me. So I ended up writing down my five non-negotiables,” Wilson explained.
He believed those five qualities were essential to a lifelong partnership.
“My five non-negotiables were a woman of faith. The second thing is that I wanted a woman who was faithful. Third thing is I wanted a woman who was independent. Fourth thing is that I wanted a woman who would love me the way my mom loved my dad, and fifth thing is that, ultimately, I wanted a woman who tilted the room.”
Wilson said he wasn’t willing to settle for three or four of the qualities, and he lucked up.
“We got five for five, plus some more,” Wilson said as Ciara teared up.
When Anthony asked if she was crying, the pregnant mother-of-two blamed her weepiness on hormones.
This isn’t the first time Ciara has addressed the prayer. Last May, she listed the qualities she looked for in a potential husband.
"I’ll tell you a few things that I did pray," she told Angie Martinez. "I prayed for a God-fearing man; I prayed for discernment; I prayed for wisdom, to really learn from the wisdom that I gained from the experience I was going through. I prayed for a man that loved kids because obviously, me having my son — if you’re going to love me, you [have to] love him."
"I prayed for a man that was worldly as well, [because] I love to explore," Ciara continued. "So someone that’s going to edify my world is important to me."
Last week, the couple celebrated the fifth anniversary of the day they met. They got married on July 6, 2016. Their daughter, Sienna Princess Wilson, was born the following April. The couple announced they were expecting another child in late January.
