Normani mesmerized the crowd at the VMAs when she brought out Teyana Taylor and performed a steamy dance to punctuate her performance of "Wild Side."

The singer commanded the stage in a metallic outfit and her unfailing dance moves. To close out the performance, Taylor came to the stage, tied to a metal object. Normani then performed a suggestive dance inspired by a 2002 Janet Jackson performance.

The moment quickly began trending and it's probably safe to say Normani's secured some new fans.

Viewers were even more pleased to see Normani paying homage to Jackson with her performance.

According to Rolling Stone, Normani was a last-minute addition to the VMA performance lineup after fans pressured MTV into letting her perform.

“I don’t know where to start with you guys,” the artist tweeted to her fans. “You’re my heart and soul and have always stuck by me through all the f**king adversities. First shall be the last and the last shall be the first.  MY NATION I love youuuuu. S**t bout to be lit IM CRINE.”

Normani collaborated with Cardi B to produce "Wild Side" in July.

“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time,” Normani said in July. “She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”

The 25-year-old wasn't nominated for a 2021 VMA award.
