North Carolina A&T’s homecoming continues to live up to its name, dubbed the “Greatest Homecoming On Earth” among the nation’s historically Black colleges and universities.

According to HBCU Gameday, tickets for the 2025 showdown against longtime rival South Carolina State sold out within hours of going on sale Monday, as fans rushed to secure their spot at one of the most highly anticipated events in HBCU football.

All categories, including premium reserved, general admission, and Game Day Tailgate passes for the Orange Lot, were quickly purchased.

When is the homecoming game taking place?

Set for Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at Greensboro’s Truist Stadium, the game will once again spotlight A&T’s iconic GHOE slogan. The stadium, which holds around 21,500 fans, is expected to be packed with Aggie supporters and Bulldog fans.

What is HBCU Season?

Tailgating remains a longstanding GHOE experience, with the Orange Lot on Laurel Street serving as a popular pregame destination. Access to this area requires both a valid game ticket and a separate tailgate pass, which also sold out quickly.

Earlier this year, A&T introduced higher ticket prices for its marquee HBCU matchups, including games against Hampton, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State.

Reserved seats for homecoming were priced at around $65, and general admission was $50. Meanwhile, tailgating passes require a separate purchase, reflecting both increased demand and age-old HBCU rivalries.

Blavity reported that there are around 107 HBCUs nationwide, providing more than 228,000 students with everything they need to know about Black history, Black culture and camaraderie among their peers. However, an HBCU wouldn’t be anything without the coveted homecoming season, which kicks off in early October, with unforgettable games, gatherings and traditions.
