As was revealed in June, Howard Rosenman, the producer and co-writer of the original Sparkle movie, as well as exec producer of the 2012 remake sold the book rights to the film to Simon & Schuster, several months ago. The plan of course was to release a novelization of the movie, which has already been adapted, and is on the market for purchase.

Titled Sparkle: A Novel, the book was published last week, on August 7, ten days prior to the film's opening this Friday.

Bestselling author Denene Millner novelized Mara Brock Akil's screenplay; Millner has written 19 books, including co-authoring Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man with Steve Harvey (I'm not sure if that was common knowledge).
