Paying less than $2 for extra dipping sauce seemed to be the last straw for three New Yorkers, who proceeded to trash the establishment and attack its employees.

The ordeal recently unfolded at a French fry joint called Bel Fries, located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Video footage of the attack shows the three women trashing the establishment after refusing to pay $1.75 for extra sauce.
“Two of my employees were hit in the head with glass bottles,” Bel Fries owner Annalee Schlossberg, who wasn’t at the establishment during the incident, noted, per CBS.
“It’s a nightmare, honestly,” she continued. “There’s something going on with them, and it didn’t have to do with us, clearly, because it was over sauce. That shouldn’t call for that behavior.”
Additionally, the video also shows that there were many bystanders who, instead of intervening, cheered on and encouraged the assailants during their rampage.
“As mad as these women were, as crazy as they were acting, I think that was egging them on,” Schlossberg said of the bystanders’ cheers.
Destroying an entire store like Bel Fries over $1.75 for extra sauce is insane. Fighting a bodega owner over the price of something because YOU didn’t have enough money is insane.

The assailants, who are all in their 20s, were ultimately arrested and identified as Chitara Plasencia, Pearl Ozoria and Tatiyanna Johnson.
While Johnson and Plasencia were ultimately released, Ozoria had to post bail because she allegedly decked an employee in the face before stealing $10 from the cash register.
According to CBS, they were due back in court on Friday, though this outcome is currently unclear.

While the women face the legal ramifications of their attack, Schlossberg is still focused on ensuring her employees are safe.
“My number one priority is making sure all of my employees are not only physically OK but mentally OK. I know they’re suffering from traumatic shock from the event,” the Bel Fries owner said.
While the establishment implemented some new safety measures, Schlossberg temporarily hired a security guard.
