Little League World Series officials say there’s more to the story after a video of a Black player having his hair stuffed with cotton goes viral.

In the clip, the child can be seen sitting in a chair, wearing a Midwest Region uniform as his teammates pull the stuffing out of toys and stick it on his head.

“That’s just little leaguers being little leaguers,” the sports commentator says.

“I need context,” responded one perplexed Twitter user.

“Where this kid’s parents,” wrote another.

According to TMZ, the incident took place during the eighth inning of the Red Sox vs. Orioles Little League Classic game in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The Midwest Region team consists of a majority of white players from Davenport, Iowa.

The Little League World Series issued a statement Monday morning, addressing the incident.

“During the broadcast of the MLB Little League Classic, a Midwest player was shown with filling from a stuffed animal given away at the game on his head,” read the statement, obtained by REVOLT. “After speaking with the team, as well as reviewing photos, multiple players on the Midwest Region team were taking part in this while enjoying the game.”

“As only one player appeared on the broadcast, Little League International understands that the actions shown could be perceived as racially insensitive,” the statement continued. “We have spoken with the player’s mother and the coaches, who have assured us that there was no ill-intent behind the action shown during the broadcast.”

But not everyone is satisfied with the Little League World Series’ explanation.

Comedian Leslie Jones even took to Twitter to share her thoughts about the mother’s decision to allow the action to take place.

“Ok who the f**k gonna explain this bullshit?” she tweeted. “I’m so tired of people saying they not racist but sit and let racist shit happen!Anyone who comes in these comments to rationalize this I will RIP YOUR F**KING HEART OUT! So don’t f**k with me! Where r parents?Look at that boys face!?”

“Then she should fully be ashamed of herself there is no way this looks good no matter what the f**k is going on,” she wrote. “My parents would have flipped the f**k out.”

“I would have flipped out,” wrote another Twitter user who agreed with Jones. “They picked on the Black kid because the filling stuck to his particular type of hair. Where is the video of white kids having this done to them? Because it won’t stick in their hair! I’m white w/ extra curly hair. This would have mortified me as a kid.”

“Jesus Christ. Settle down. It’s a toy animal stuffing,” wrote another Twitter user.
