Oprah Winfrey has announced that she's officially launching her own 2012 Oscar Special (maybe filling the slot left vacant by Babara Wah-Wah), which is scheduled to air next week Wednesday, February 15th, on the OWN network of course, from 9pm to 11pm ET/PT.
And who will her guests be? Take a wild guess 🙂
The big O will do one-on-one sit down and chat sessions with Best Actress nominee Viola Davis and Best Supporting Actress nominee Octavia Spencer!
This might be the most-watched OWN show in the network's history… if not the most watched by black audiences 🙂
Oh, and she'll also chat with some dude named Jonah Hill.
So anyway, back to Octavia and Viola… I don't recall, but I think this will be the very first time that she has actually talked to both of these actresses about this polarizing movie they both starred in, continue to defend (even though I don't think they have to at this point), and have won lots of acclaim for.
Has she?
Has she even offered any commentary on the film itself?
I searched the site and didn't find any posts that answer either of the above questions.
Regardless, this should be interesting viewing. Too bad I don't have OWN; and given that it's 2 hours long, that's a lot of time to cover a lot of ground (despite Jonah Hill's presence; hopefully his segment will be short).
Oprah's Oscar Special will air on Wednesday, February 15, from 9 to 11 pm ET/PT on OWN.
This will reportedly be the beginning of a franchise.
