Paramore’s “Misery Business” has received its flowers ever since the band performed the beloved hit for the first time in years in October.

Since then, they’ve performed several renditions of the song featuring some of the band’s celebrity fans. On Wednesday night, during their second night at Madison Square Garden, Paramore welcomed Lil Uzi Vert to the stage to perform another revamped version of “Misery Business.”

“[We’ve been] talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person. I love you,” lead singer Hayley Williams told the rapper on stage, Uproxx reported. “You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore, so can we do this bridge again together? And then we’re gonna melt their faces off. Alright? New York City, are you ready? Here we go!”

Some social media users loved the rapper’s surprise appearance.

“LIL UZI VERT & HAYLEY WILLIAMS NIGHT 2 MSG OMGGGGGGGG,” one tweeted.

Paramore x Lil Uzi Vert COLLAB NEEDED ON PINK TAPE 💒🦇💿,” another wrote.

Most, however, were perplexed about the collaborative performance.

“Hayley Williams bringing our Lil Uzi to sing Misery Business at the Paramore concert tonight was NOT on my 2023 bingo card,” a surprised fan tweeted.

“Hayley williams just brought lil uzi vert out for misery business what timeline are we in,” another questioned.

As Williams mentioned, Uzi has been a Paramore stan for a while now. He’s been open about it too, like in 2017 when he shared a video of him blasting Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” in a car on YouTube.

The rapper even tried collaborating with the vocalist, though Williams turned down the 27-year-old because she didn’t want to be that famous.

“I remember, too, Uzi asking me to do some stuff with him, and I know that fans are going to be so pissed at me for saying this, but I literally wrote him back on Instagram and I was like, ‘Buddy, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous,'” Williams said, NME reported.

But the rapper still hopes a Paramore and Uzi track may happen. At the 2022 BET Awards, they told Complex their dream collaboration was still “Hayley Williams from Paramore.”

“There’s no one better than Hayley Williams,” Lil Uzi Vert said.
