A follow-up to THIS post from yesterday, which Cynthia reported John Singleton‘s intentions to sue Paramount Studios and MTV Films for $20 million. Singleton alleged the studio reneged on their promise to greenlight and distribute two of his films after he gave them the right to distribute 2005’s hit, Hustle and Flow.

Singleton claims Paramount placed “unwarranted conditions which made it impossible to make the movies.” According to EW Inside Movies, Paramount responded to Singleton stating, “Paramount was hoping that John Singleton would produce two more pictures before his agreement with our studio ended in 2010, but that did not happen. Instead, he went on to direct Abduction for Lionsgate. Paramount fulfilled all of its obligations and his claims have absolutely no merit.”

This doesn’t really answer Singleton’s allegations, does it? Did Paramount place unwarranted conditions that made it impossible to produce his films??
