Paula Patton is said to be in negotiations to join the cast of Legendary Pictures’ and Atlas Entertainment’s movie adaptation of the popular video game World of Warcraft, which Duncan Jones (Moon) is attached to direct.
Assuming a deal is agreed on, Patton will join Colin Farrell, who has been offered a lead role in the film, although no word on what role exactly Patton is being considered for. World of Warcraft fans can chime in with their thoughts.
I’ve never played the game, but here’s a brief description courtesy of Activision, its publisher:
Descend into the World of Warcraft and join thousands of mighty heroes in an online world of myth, magic, and limitless adventure. Explore jagged, snowy peaks; vast mountain fortresses; and harsh, winding canyons. Witness zeppelins flying over smoldering battlefields; battle in epic sieges — a host of legendary experiences await. Enter the World of Warcraft…
Shooting begins in January.
Up next for Patton, who’s been able to stay busy, she stars in David E. Talbert’s adaptation of his own original work, the romcom Baggage Claim, which opens wide this weekend.
