A white middle school teacher in Pennsylvania has been suspended after throwing a racist tantrum in the school parking lot.

According to 6abc Philadelphia, the incident happened after a minor car accident involving the teacher and a Black parent who was dropping off his child at Drexel Hill Middle School.

Cellphone video shows the exchange between the woman and the parent.

"You're probably on welfare too," the teacher says to the parent at the beginning of the video.

"Not even a little bit, six figures a year," the man responds.

The parent then calls out the teacher for being racist.

"It's because I'm young and I'm Black," he said. "That's the reason you would say that."

The teacher didn't hide her racism.

"That's right because you're Black," she said. "That's right, always looking to milk the system. You see me, a white woman, you think I got money."

Upper Darby School District Superintendent Daniel McGarry confirmed to CNN that the woman also used the N-word and homophobic slurs.

The district didn't identify the teacher, but it released a statement condemning the incident.

"We took this report very seriously," the district said. "As a result of the investigation, the teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. We intend to vigorously address the issue."

The district also said the teacher's behavior is deeply disturbing and that it's not indicative of the other teachers working in the district.

"The behavior, language, and treatment of one of our parents are not in keeping with our expectations of our teachers and staff," the district said. "The comments and actions made by this teacher do not align with our core beliefs of Opportunity, Unity, and Excellence."

The parent chose not to be identified according to 6abc, but he praised the school for handling the situation.

According to CNN, the teacher has been working at the school since 2008.

"Right now, this person is on administrative leave without pay," McGarry told CNN. "We're going to pursue it vigorously. The next steps are the staff member can elect arbitration."
