Michael B. Jordan was declared sexiest man alive by People magazine on Tuesday evening, making him the latest in a long line of leading Hollywood men to hold the mantle.

In an interview with the magazine, the Black Panther star spoke about what it would be like to be named sexiest man alive and how his family would react.

"It's a cool feeling. You know, everybody always made that joke, like, ‘Mike, this is the one thing you’re probably not going to get.' But it’s a good club to be a part of," Jordan said.

"When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for," he added.

Jordan revealed he was People's choice during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday. He came onto the stage in a hazmat suit as Kimmel tried to guess who it was.

According to People, this is the 35th anniversary of when they started the trend of naming a sexiest man alive each year.

"You’re also the safest man alive," host Jimmy Kimmel joked as virtual audience members guessed who it is.

The Creed actor spoke at length about his efforts to change the film industry into a more inclusive place, and People noted that Jordan's Outlier Society Productions, was one of the first companies to institute an inclusion rider that forces directors to diversify the cast and crew of their films.

"I’ve been picking my moments to make the most impact. We can all take action—big or small—to help create the change we want to see," he said.

When it comes to his future, the Hollywood star said he wants to get into directing at some point and eventually focus on a family.

"Just growing, whatever the next evolution of me is. Hopefully a family by then, I’m going to throw that in the universe. I want to make an impact all over the world and not just through the roles that I play," Jordan said.

Previous holders of the title include Idris Elba and John Legend
