The first film was totally destroyed by critics, with 90% of them trashing it; but that didn't stop it from raking in over $160 million in box office domestically, and over $270 million worldwide.
So it's no surprise that Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison Productions are shooting a sequel to Grown Ups, which starred Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider.
And it looks like the entire starring cast returns, including Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek, who will reprise their roles from the first film, while Oliver Cooper, David Henrie, Shaquille O'Neal, and others have signed on to play new characters.
The film has been confirmed for a July 12, 2013 release date.
Speaking of Shaq… Ahem.
