The press release I received back in May when this new so-called Dramaville hour was announced by BBC America said that season 2 of Idris Elba’s Luther would premiere on Wednesday, October 5, at 10PM ET/PT.

The press release I’m looking at today says that Luther season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, September 28, at 10PM, exactly 1 week before the previously announced date.

So, maybe there was a switch somewhere after the initial announcement and we just missed it.

But anyway, now you know.

Idris Elba will host the Dramaville hour, also serving as producer, via his Headshell Production company, which will also include, in addition to Luther, a pair of brand new series, including The Hour, a 6-part espionage thriller set in the 1950s; and Whitechapel, a 6-part crime thriller; and a not-so-new BBC serial called State Of Play, which centers on a newspaper’s investigation into the death of a young woman.

The Dramaville hour premieres Wednesday, August 17, at 10:00PM ET/PT, beginning with The Hour.

Season 2 of Luther will follow, premiering on Wednesday, September 28, at 10PM ET/PT.

Whitechapel begins its run on Wednesday, October 26th, also at 10PM ET/PT.

And closing things out will be State Of Play on December 7th.

So, if you haven’t already watched season 2 of Luther, which already aired in the UK (and you can probably find online somewhere), you’ll get your chance to do so beginning September 28th, not October 5th.

Though all these series look interesting to me, and if I had BBC America, I’d watch them.

Here’s a preview of Dramaville:
