YouTube is in the TV business, in case you didn't get that memo.

Producer Walter Latham (The Original Kings of ComedyThe Queens of Comedy, Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat) is launching his very own YouTube channel, called Walter Latham Comedy.

Making its debut on July 7, the channel will iinclude never-before-seen content from Latham's already existing library of work, as well as content from film and TV franchises of the past 10-12 years, and some new content, including: the aforementioned series he produced, as well as P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy, Latin Kings of Comedy (featuring George Lopez, Paul Rodriguez and Cheech Marin), never-before-sene early footage of Tyler Perry performing, Bernie Mac clips, Niecy Nash and others that he believes will be easy draws for the channel.

And by the way, Latham also has a first-look deal with Paramount Digital that includes TV properties as well.

"Building comedy brands and developing comedy stars is what I do… and YouTube offers a fantastic vehicle for incubating comedy talent," says Latham.

And with that, a new comedy showcase titled Comedy After Dark (funded by seed money provided by YouTube for the channel launch) will emphasize rising stars.

However, don't expect any R-rated material, since Google mandates that all ad-supported channel content be no more risque than a TV-14 rating.

As Variety notes, Latham's hope is that some of the performers on Comedy After Dark will develop a following that will lead to a national tour, as live events are his production company's bread and butter.
