On Saturday, September 30, 2017, in her hometown, a public funeral service will be held for Kenneka Jenkins at the House of Hope church. The church, seating thousands, will allow all of the fallen teen's family, friends, neighbors, and city people to pay their respects to the family of the teen whose death is still a huge mystery.

On September 9, 2017, the 19-year-old teen died at a Rosemont hotel, after allegedly walking into the hotel freezer and becoming entrapped. Jenkin's mother, Teresa Martin, and family members along with protesters, have been probing more law officials to get involved in the investigation of the death that they do not believe to be caused by Jenkin's own will. The mother has sought the assistance of the FBI but they have responded that they will only support the local officials, as needed.

On Saturday, the city of Chicago and the nation will be able to mourn and celebrate the life of this young woman. Jenkins' mother, Tereasa Martin, took to Facebook to announce the funeral arrangements, requesting that everyone planning on attending will be wearing purple and white.

As many gather at the House of Hope this weekend, all her family wants is peace and respect during these trying times.
