Queen Latifah typically keeps her relationships and family life out of the public eye, but she made a rare move on Sunday night by bringing her longtime partner Eboni Nichols to the 2026 Grammys. As The Grio reported, Queen Latifah shared an Instagram post honoring Nichols.

“Eboni Nichols! I couldn’t be more proud of you for being a Producer on this year’s Grammy Awards. I ❤️ watching your dreams come true, baby!” Queen Latifah captioned her post.

The post included two photos of Nichols rocking a black, double-breasted blazer with a black tie, black skirt and black tights.

Who is Eboni Nichols?

Nichols is a dancer, choreographer and producer with experience working on stage and screen. She’s a California native and a graduate of Chapman University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and Dance.

Her credits include performance producer for the 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, show choreographer for the 2022 Academy Awards and choreographer for the shows Loot, The Santa Clauses and Unstable. She was also a Laker Girl for the Los Angeles Lakers, according to her Emmy bio and Hello magazine. Her credits can also be found for Jane the Virgin, Fresh Off the Boat, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Girls Trip.

On top of that, she’s also toured with superstars like Beyoncé, Rihanna and Usher. A few years ago, she launched her own production company called E. Nichols Productions.

How did Queen Latifah and Eboni Nichols meet?

Queen Latifah and Nichols are believed to have met while working on Dancing With the Stars in 2009. However, some reports state that they may have met earlier on the set of the 2007 movie-musical Hairspray. The couple has since kept their relationship private. However, they were first spotted together around 2013, and they made their red carpet debut in 2015, per Hello magazine.

Over the years, Queen Latifah has shied away from discussing her personal life. In a 2008 interview with The New York Times, she doubled down on her stance to her keep the details of her relationship under wraps.

“I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life. You don’t get that part of me. Sorry. We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl,” she said at the time.

How Queen Latifah and Eboni Nichols navigate motherhood

Together, Nichols and Queen Latifah share a 6-year-old son named Rebel. In several interviews, Queen Latifah has talked about how she would move through motherhood on her own terms.

“I’m a late bloomer with a lot of things, and you know, nobody’s perfect. I’m an overachiever in some ways and I’m slow as molasses in other ways, but I think I kind of needed to grow and mature and get everything kind of taken care of with everything before I was able to really deal with it,” she told People in 2018.

Over the years, Queen Latifah and Nichols and their son Rebel have been spotted together at various basketball games and other outings.
