The stars of ABC’s hit sitcom Abbott Elementary joined Celebrity Family Feud Sunday night, challenging the cast of Hacks. Joining the Abbott Elementary cast was Quinta Brunson’s former teacher Joyce Abbott, whose name inspired the name of the show, People reports.

While introducing the teams to viewers, Harvey shouted out Brunson’s extraordinary achievements in entertainment.

“Let me tell you something, this is a bad girl here right there,” Harvey said, according to People. “I’m really proud of you, because the way you did it, you don’t even know.”

The 32-year-old’s eyes started to water.

“I’ve gotta stop crying on television. Thank you,” she replied, according to People.

Harvey responded, saying he knows Brunson’s work isn’t easy.

Brunson’s tears continued as she grabbed a tissue from a member of her team.

Abbott took the opportunity to praise her former student.

“I’m just humbly honored that she’s seen fit to include my name,” she said, according to People. “It’s definitely an honor.”

As Blavity previously reported, Abbott Elementary was an instant hit, bringing in ABC’s highest ratings for a comedy since Modern Family. Much to fans’ delight, it’s been renewed for a second season, E! Online reports.

Brunson has also received three Emmy nominations for her work on Abbott Elementary: outstanding comedy series, lead actress in a comedy and writing for a comedy series.

She’s the first Black woman to earn three nominations in comedy categories within the same year, and the youngest Black woman to be nominated in the comedy acting category.
