Just in case you've forgotten (we told you it was happening)… or hoped it was a dream (it's not)… a new season of R. Kelly's Trapped In The Closet is coming… soon.
IFC released a promo a few weeks ago, saying that the new season will begin this fall, but didn't give an exact date.
But in an interview with Time magazine, posted on their website 2 days ago (thanks to MovieLine for the tip), Kelly said the following:
We just shot 20 chapters. They’ll be coming out the day after Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is November 22, so I suppose that means we should look for Trapped In The Closet on November 23rd, which is a Friday, on IFC… launching what will apparently be a 20 chapter season (at least).
But he didn't stop there. If we're reading correctly into his follow-up comments, we should expect even more chapters and seasons of Trapped In The Closet, beyond the 20 they've already shot. To wit, he added:
Trapped in the Closet is forever. I’ve got like a hundred chapters to come.
And when the interviewer responded with:
Forever?
R. Kelly replied:
It’s forever.
An eternity of Trapped In The Closet chapters. yay.
Fans of the series will remember that the original saga was 22 chapters long. So what kind of epic-ness might R. Kelly have planned with the 32 new chapters he previously said he'd written for another season of the series?
Find out when it returns to IFC the day after Thanksgiving.
