Rare video surfaced of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson being introduced by JAY-Z at Hot 97’s 2001 annual Summer Jam festival, Complex reports.

The video from over two decades ago, posted by YouTuber HipHopVCR, shows never-been-seen footage from the concert that was considered one of the most iconic hip-hop music performances in history, according to The Source.

In the video, Jackson is dressed in all black, and Hov escorts him onto the stage. He throws his signature kisses and peace sign toward the cheering crowd before posing for a few pictures.

The late singer tells the crowd he “loves [them] very much” before exiting the stage.

Tracy Cloherty, the former program director for Hot 97, had to follow strict protocols when interacting with Jackson, according to Complex.

“There were definitely some rules that went into effect,” Cloherty told the outlet.

“Even though I was introduced to him, I couldn’t shake his hand or anything, and I couldn’t step within, like, a 6-foot perimeter around him,” Cloherty said.
