The NAACP has released a statement regarding Rachel Dolezal, who was recently exposed a white NAACP leader in Spokane, Washington. The NAACP writes that Dolezal “is enduring a legal issue with her family, and we respect her privacy in this matter.” Additionally they state that “One’s racial identity is not a qualifying criteria or disqualifying standard for NAACP leadership” and “the NAACP Alaska-Oregon-Washington State Conference stands behind Ms. Dolezal’s advocacy record.” Read the full statement below and on their website here
