Regina King showed up for the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy, making her first red carpet appearance since the death of her son five months ago. The actress was all smiles when she attended the event, where she accepted the Women Power Award alongside fellow honoree, Naomie Harris, Essence reports.
As Blavity previously reported, King lost her son, Ian Alexander Jr., who died by suicide shortly after celebrating his 26th birthday in January.

It’s nice to see her out and about. Hopefully she’s hanging in there, all things considered. Obviously, she’s resilient so she’ll be okay.
