Reginae Carter and Armon Warren have shut down speculations their relationship is abusive after rumors started circulating on social media.

The couple have been dating for over nine months and are pursuing successful careers in the entertainment industry. Carter, 24, is filming the sequel to Boxed In, a feature film in which she plays the lead, up-and coming-boxer Ria. Warren, 25, recently had his first solo song, “Hol’ It Down,” featured on Billboard’s Digital Sales chart.

They took to Twitter to shut down rumors of domestic violence after The Rickey Smiley Morning Show mentioned them. In a segment, Toine The Don addressed fan speculations that Carter’s recent hand injury may be due to domestic violence. The radio show featured Carter’s answer to the rumors, which she dispelled in a TikTok Live by explaining she injured herself on set.

“Let me tell you something, one thing I don’t play about is abuse,” she said. “My man, don’t ever put his hands on me. So don’t you ever make that wild statement up!”

After the segment aired, Carter took to Twitter to express her frustration concerning the rumors.

“I’m so drained with the internet, tbh,” she tweeted, according to Atlanta Black Star. “I’ve grown up in this industry and watched it mess up so many friendships and relationships over lies and bulls—t! Two young people in love, getting to their money, and minding their burins ruffle too many old mfs feathers … Seek help d—n! One thing I don’t play about is defaming someone’s character. ESP people who I love,” Carter added.

Warren also called out the radio show for giving validity to speculations of violence.

“Can y’all not put a narrative on me that I hit or abuse my girlfriend,” he tweeted. “It was brought to my attention on live radio you all are implying I’m abusing my girl ON THE RADIO tho. It is completely false. The fact it’s a radio station is crazy.”

Radio host Rickey Smiley addressed the situation and clarified that no one on the show claimed Carter and Warren’s relationship was abusive.

“We love Reginae,” he said on Instagram before adding she and his daughter are friends.

“It’s all love, Rickey!” Carter commented under the post. “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding! God bless! Thanks for always looking out!”

She also took to Twitter to clarify the situation.

“I apologize for yesterday,” she tweeted. “I spoke on something I didn’t know much about. And then brought up age where it wasn’t even needed. I’m in a place where I don’t want unnecessary drama, and I don’t want to offend anyone! Have a great Saturday.”
