Mexican starlet, and the reigning queen of telenovelas, Kate del Castillo, has joined the growing cast of producer Will Packer's thriller, No Good Deed, which already stars Idris ElbaTaraji P. Henson, and Henry Simmons, and is currently already in production in Atlanta, GA.

As previously noted, the story follows a former District Attorney, and mother of 2 young children, who are kidnapped and terrorized by a handsome but mysterious stranger, who she lets into their home to wait for help, after his car runs off the road nearby.

Henson plays the woman; Idris, the mysterious handsome stranger; Simmons will play Henson's husband, a businessman; and the newly cast Kate del Castillo will play Elba’s cheating ex-fiancee.

The plot thickens; so exactly what part could the film's kidnapper's cheating ex-fiancee play in all this? We'll just have to wait to find out.

I suspect there could be some twist to or two that we don't know about yet. But I'll stop with all the speculating, and just wait for the movie to come out 🙂

Worth noting, according to The Hollywood Reporter

The part was originally written for a white actor but Screen Gems decided to make an effort to appeal to Latino filmgoers, an audience segment that studios increasingly are courting.

Although, if you recall my conversation with Will Packer 2 weeks ago, you'll remember that he said the film's script is one he was really excited about because it’s wasn’t originally conceived with black leads in mind, suggesting that it would've likely been a primarily Caucasian cast if cast according to how it was originally conceived.

Sam Miller (Luther) is directing from a script by Aimee Lagos (96 Minutes).

I won't expect to see this until early next year; or quite possibly, later this year.
