As the year draws to a close, we remember the good times as well as the bad. They’ve both shaped the way we’ll all move into 2016, and beyond. As the need for positivity and good vibes continues to rise, don’t forget those of our skinfolk who unfortunately won’t be moving into the new year with us due to unjust violence and police brutality.
Just to name a few, remember Sandra Bland, and don’t forget to #Sayhername. Remember the Charleston 9, whose names are The Reverend Clementa Pinckney, Cynthia Hurd, The Reverend Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, Tywanza Sanders, Ethel Lance, Susie Jackson, Depayne Middleton Doctor, The Reverend Daniel Simmons and Myra Thompson. Remember Freddie Gray, Samuel DuBose, and everyone else on our minds and hearts. Each and every one of these people could have been one of us or our loved ones.
As you enjoy the rest of 2015, your holiday, and prepare for an amazing year ahead, don’t forget to lend them a thought or two.
