Rhyme n Reason (RnR) is a hip-hop group consisting of two Nigerian-American MCs: KaBoo and J.O. The two met in 2010 during their freshman year at Washington University in St. Louis while spitting bars at various on-campus cyphers. KaBoo hails from a southern suburb of Chicago, IL and is currently in his second year of law school. J.O. comes from Bradenton, Florida and has recently completed a Master’s degree and starts med school this fall. When they’re not surrounded by the books, they’re in the booth. “Originality is key — it’s about experimenting, always trying something new and never trying to replicate,” says J.O.
KaBoo and J.O. have their own unique flow, distinct yet complimentary to one another, creating a fresh, dynamic sound.
“The name Rhyme n Reason comes from our desire to do just that: rhyme with intentionality and reason,” says KaBoo.
During their undergrad years, RnR opened shows for notable acts such as Matt & Kim, Kids These Days, TimeFlies, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Gym Class Heroes. Now, after a year’s time and amidst their grad school grind, Rhyme n Reason brings you their debut album, The Book Of R, now available via RnR’s Soundcloud.
