Love the twisted, classic story of Alfred Hitchock and Psycho? Love chart-topping pop songs? Well, get you a girl who can do both!
Rihanna is about to check in to the Bates Motel!
The “Needed Me” singer has been cast in the iconic role of Marion Cane for the fifth and final season of Bates Motel. This news was revealed at Comic-Con in San Diego today. She joins a loaded and talented cast which includes Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke and Nestor Carbonell.
The singer was featured in a video announcement which was posted on A&E’s press site.

Reportedly, after Rihanna expressed that she was a fan of the series, the producers reached out to her. Janet Leigh portrayed the character in the 1960 film, Psycho. In the film and book, Crane is killed by Norman Bates in a shower, which is thought to be one of the most memorable film scenes of all time. However, as we’ve seen in the series thus far, Bates Motel does not directly follow the plotline of Psycho, and the events in which Marion is involved may be different in this incarnation.
Bates Motel is critically-acclaimed and was severely snubbed in this year’s Emmy nominations. However, I am most certain that the show will bring it as it always does for its last season, and with Rihanna onboard, the show is about to soar to new heights just in time for its final run.
