Beyoncé’s new single, “Break My Soul,” has inspired what many are calling the Great Resignation, and a career resurgence for Robin S., the Los Angeles Times reports.
The star’s ’90s song “Show Me Love” is featured on the new track, which is an ode to house music and a first taste of Queen Bey’s upcoming studio album, Renaissance. Since the song dropped on June 20, Robin S. said she has received a lot of love and some new fans.
TMZ reports that “Break My Soul” has sparked new business opportunities and streams for Robin S. She told the outlet that she’s getting offers to work with record labels, corporations and other artists.
While appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the 60-year-old shared that she had no idea the Grammy winner had plans to use the 1993 hit song.
“It doesn’t have to be confirmed. A singer knows her songs,” she said on the show.
She learned of the feature from her son, whose enthusiasm matched the public’s when “Break My Soul” was released.
“My son called me and he’s like, ‘Mom, Mom. You’re trending all over the place,'” she said. “‘You know, Beyoncé put her song out and it’s ‘Show Me Love,’ and you’re trending everywhere.'”
Robin S. shared that she always hoped she and Beyoncé “could do a collab together, you know, that’s always a dream.”
She also took a moment on Good Morning Britain to thank Beyoncé and her team.
“This is Robin S., and this message goes out to the Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé, to Jay-Z, to the entire team,” she said. “Thank you so much for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive. I am honored, and I’m excited to see what else can happen.”
“Break My Soul” is currently No. 1 on YouTube for trending music videos and has garnered 7.2 million views since its release.
