Since Colin Kaepernick's workout with the NFL on Saturday, reports claiming Jay-Z was disappointed in his efforts of turning it into a "publicity stunt" have been rebutted.

On Sunday, Sports Illustrated cited a source saying the mogul had been "let down" by Kaepernick. The workout, which was initially planned to be held at the Atlanta Falcons' practice field, was relocated 60 miles away to Charles R. Drew High School.

The location change caused some NFL teams to withdraw their RSVP for the event. Hue Jackson, the organizer of the workout, returned to the airport after receiving word of the change, according to Sports Illustrated.

Kaepernick also reportedly requested to shoot a Nike ad during the workout which the NFL had agreed to before changing the workout location.

Jay-Z, who has been a supporter of the former quarterback, reportedly told a source at Sports Illustrated that he was "disappointed with Colin's actions and believes he turned a legitimate workout into a publicity stunt."

However, Roc Nation, Jay-Z's entertainment company, denied those statements in a tweet, seemingly mocking Sports Illustrated's source.

Despite Jay-Z's support coming into question after the announcement of his partnership with the league, NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted that he had some "influence" in organizing the workout for Kaepernick.

During the announcement of the partnership, Jay-Z said “I think we’ve moved past kneeling. I think it’s time to go on to actionable items,” Blavity previously reported.

During the workout, Kaepernick, staying true to himself, donned a Kunta Kinte shirt, Blavity reported. The shirt, which the athlete also wore during a deposition for his case against the NFL, certainly makes a statement in itself.

Typically used as a reference for the Black struggle, Kunta Kinte was a character in Alex Haley's novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family

The workout, which was organized nearly three years since the former San Francisco 49ers last stepped on a field, was designed for Kaepernick to display his talents before NFL owners and coaches.

It remains unclear what happens next following the workout and if we can expect to see Kaepernick suited up for the 2020 season.
