In 2008, long before TikTok challenges and Instagram trends, one video captivated the masses. It showed a woman— who, by the video’s title, was presumed to be named Scarlet— on top of a coffee table in heels, belting a song. Halfway through the ballad, she falls off the table. She lays on the floor for a while, and later, heads to the door to leave the room. She makes sure to put on a pair of early aughts-approved wedges before telling the camera, “that hurt.”
The video was an instant hit. According Know Your Meme, after two weeks, it garnered more than 79,000 views and hundreds of comments and shares, which was revolutionary at the time. The video was a cultural staple, and helped define the social media landscape.
Now, 15 years after the video first went live, “Scarlet” has remerged.
TikTok user PaigeyP confirmed on the platform that she is “Scarlet.” In the clip, which was shared in response to a comment asking PaigeyP if she was Scarlet, she shared that she’s asked if that’s her all the time.
“I’ve been getting this a lot lately, and usually I’m like ‘shhh, you being too loud,'” she explains. “But you know what, yes, I am the girl that fell off the coffee table.”
She proved her claims by showing the very wedges from the original video.

It didn’t take long for the clip to make it’s way to Twitter.
“SCARLETT TAKES A TUMBLE REVEAL ON TIKTOK MADE MY ENTIRE LIFE,” one wrote in a soon-to-be-viral tweet.

A few were happy the wedges made a cameo.
“The wedges were the real star the whole time lmao I always loved the part where she pans to the shoes right before,” one viewer replied.
