That's Oscar-winner Sean "Diddy" Combs to you; Combs won his first Oscar in February after signing on an executive producer on sports documentary Undefeated, which won the Best Documentary Feature Academy Award.

Or maybe I should say, that's Sean "Diddy" Combs, the man Forbes magazine says is the hip-hopper closest to becoming a billionaire, with an estimated net worth of $550 million.

This morning, courtesy of the Chicago Suntimes, talking about Sean "Diddy" Combs:

Without question, Sean “Diddy” Combs is a renaissance man of many talents, ranging from music star and mogul to shrewd entrepreneur to actor — especially with solid performances in “Get Him to the Greek” and “A Raisin in the Sun.” Now I’ve learned Combs is into making his mark even bigger in front of the camera, with a longtime associate telling me Monday: “Diddy wants to become the next Denzel Washington or Will Smith.” While reportedly about to ink a deal to star in “The Hangover 3” for director Todd Phillips , Combs really wants to use his extensive Hollywood connections to land much meatier roles — both dramatic and comedic.

Also worth noting, from one of his reps talking to the New York Post, “I can tell you Sean is in L.A. aggressively working on his film career and a follow-up to Greek.”

This is the first I'm hearing about any connection between him and The Hangover 3; not like we need a 3rd movie in that franchise.

But I should note that Diddy is attached to play a "major role" in an adaptation of George Pelecanos' Shoedog (a crime drama) along with The Wire regulars Chad Coleman, Anwar Glover, and Andre Royo. John McNaughton (Wild Things, Mad Dog and Glory) will direct the Stealth Media Group-backed film.

He's got nothing else lined up, according to his IMDB resume.

So if all this talk about him chasing big screen dreams, the likes of Denzel Washington's or Will Smith's, is correct, I suppose we should expect to start hearing Mr Combs' name mentioned a lot here more here on S&A, from here-on.

Given what I've seen of his ability thus far, I'm not sold on his acting. I'd say he's better at comedy than drama; and I'd suggest that he consider using his name and stature to produce, instead of act. 

BUT, I can't knock the man's goals and dreams; and if acting is one of them, he certainly has every right to pursue.
