Tonight, MoMA presents a set of documentary films by Laurence Gavron, the noted French filmmaker, photographer, and novelist, who became a Senegalese national in 2008.
The program includes Yandé Codou Sene, Diva Séeréer, a profile of the well-known Senegalese singer and griot, and Saudade à Dakar, which follows the influence of Cape Verdean émigrés on the music of Dakar. Gavron, a 30-year veteran of filmmaking, will be on hand to introduce the films.
The program begins tonight, April 25th, at 7:00pm
