Telling a firstborn they’re going to be an older sibling is never an easy task. But Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian thought of a clever way to share their pregnancy news with their daughter Olympia.

The tennis star took to Instagram on Friday and posted a video of the couple sharing the exciting news with the 5-year-old, People reported.

“Olympia does not know right now that I am pregnant, so the big reveal will be at the Met, and then before we leave, I’ll tell Olympia,” the 41-year-old said in the clip.

“The reason I haven’t told her is because she can’t keep a secret,” she added.

Williams also shared behind-the-scenes moments as she prepared for the Met Gala before revealing her pregnancy. She said fans could see additional footage of the reveal on YouTube: “Stay tuned … link in bio to subscribe ✨,” she wrote in the video caption.

Earlier in May, Blavity reported the Compton native shared an Instagram post with snapshots of  her debuting her baby bump.

“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” Williams wrote in the caption.

In August 2022, Williams penned a personal essay in Vogue, stating she was ready to retire from tennis and expand her family with her husband.

“In the last year, Alexis and I have been trying to have another child, and we recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family,” Williams wrote in the essay. “I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out.”

In February, Williams opened up about her near-death experience during her first pregnancy and the maternal health care issues that Black women face during and after childbirth.
