Sha'Carri Richardson is set to make her return to the track after missing the Tokyo Olympics due to a marijuana suspension. The 21-year-old will look for redemption when she competes in the 100-meter race at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, on Aug. 21, Jamaica Gleaner reported.

Richardson's opponents will include Elaine Thompson Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, three Jamaican women who won medals in Tokyo, according to ESPN.

TrackTown USA describes the upcoming event as "the best 100-meter field ever assembled."

Some of the other runners who will be featured in the race include Teahna Daniels from the United States’, Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundji and Côte d’Ivoire’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou.

As Blavity previously reported, Richardson appeared to be on her way to the Olympics after winning the 100-meter race at the U.S. Olympic trials in June. But her dream was crushed when she tested positive for cannabis

The track star is now eager to get back to winning.

"Sha'Carri is focused on running a good race since she last competed at the US Olympic Trials,' her agent, Renaldo Nehemiah, told The Wall Street Journal. 'She will be focused on executing her race to the best of her ability regardless of who is in the race."
