If you’re a college basketball fan, you’ll want to keep an eye out for Me’arah O’Neal. The youngest child of Los Angeles Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal is currently playing at Crossroads high school in Santa Monica, California. The 17-year-old previously made headlines for reaching a height of 6’4″ when she was 15.

Me’arah recently participated in the 2023 Nike Girls Elite Youth Girls Basketball Tournament. She played with her team, Nike affiliate CYFAIR Elite Sports.

The 17-year-old shared snapshots of the tournament on social media, including several photographs of her hugging her father, who came out to support her.

In the comments, fans rejoiced to see the father and daughter bond.

“Big Shaq Diesel was trying to hold back the tears. This is everything,” one fan commented.

“Love the pic of Father & Daughter Hugging,” another wrote.

“The love is evident! Y’all blessed,” another said.

Me’arah is currently ranked 35th in her class, according to Sportskeeda. She has so far received offers from some of the country’s top colleges, including Kentucky, Florida, UCLA and LSU.

Fans have been wondering if Me’arah would eventually pick LSU, as the college is her father’s alma mater and is home to college basketball star Angel Reese.

Me’arah has yet to make a public decision.
