Ahead of Super Bowl LVII, Abbott Elementary Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph took to the field to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” aka the Black National Anthem.
Super Bowl LVII will see the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Before taking to the stage, Ralph wrote on Instagram, “It is no coincidence that I will be singing the Black National Anthem, ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing,’ at the Super Bowl on the same date it was first publicly performed 123 years ago. Happy Black History Month!”
