Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Fox 2000 are coming together to work on a film based on the true story of a Detroit sisterhood. While Fox 2000 is working to obtain the rights from the ladies who make up The Dare Divas, Rhimes and Beers are brainstorming ways to take the story to the big screen for all to see.

Sheri Hunter formed The Dare Divas after her husband passed away unexpectedly. Looking for relief and comfort, Hunter went to therapy but nothing seemed to pull her out of her state of loss. Instead of giving up she decided to use her grief as an inspiration to live life to the fullest. After recruiting three of her best girlfriends: Angenette, Brenda and Mia they decided to partake in activities that would make them appreciate life more such as serving in ministry, skydiving, racing, and more.

According to Facebook the Dare Diva’s mission is, “To share our stories and be a global resource for women of all ages and nationalities, to motivate them to live daring and adventurous lives and explore their own God-given potential.”

Rhimes certainly has her hands full at Shondaland with four powerhouse ABC shows and a fifth on the way. This isn’t her first go-round with film. She co-wrote Introducing Dorothy Dandridge starring Halle Berry followed by Crossroads with Britney Spears and The Princess Diaries 2. The TV magic came thereafter.

Although The Dare Divas project is still in its brainstorming phase, we are still eager to see what the primetime diva Rhimes and her team will come up with to take this story worldwide!
