Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens has come out publicly to show his support for his girlfriend Simone Biles, the Huff Post reports.

After Biles removed herself from competing in several events at the Tokyo Olympics this week, Owens shared photos of the couple on his Instagram saying “imma ride with you through whatever baby.”

“Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB,” Owens wrote. “You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that, i love you so much and i can’t wait till you come home and i get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I’m always here for you baby.”

Owens is never shy when it comes to expressing his love for Biles. When she first qualified to make the Olympic team, Owens was in awe of her performance and took to Instagram to share his feelings about seeing her in action for the first time.

"First time getting to watch you compete in person and you didn't disappoint,” his post read. "It's so cool that I get to watch you do what you love, and be the best at that!! I'm so proud of you my lil champ. Trials up next and you already know I'm there!! Love you, baby,”

As Blavity previously reported, Biles withdrew from the team competition this week citing her mental health. According to USA Gymnastics, Biles will be evaluated daily by the medical staff.

After a low score on the vault exercise, Biles felt like she struggled mentally and decided to sit out the rest of the events.

"Once I came out here [to compete], I was like, 'No, mental is not there, so I just need to let the girls do it and focus on myself,'" Biles said, ESPN reported.

On Thursday, Biles pulled out of the all-around individual final, which was won by U.S. teammate Sunisa Lee.

Although family and friends are not permitted at the games because of COVID-19 protocols, Owens can still show his love and support for Biles on social media.

Whether Biles will compete in the upcoming events that she qualified to participate in, is still unclear.
