ESPN made a mistake about Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles on X, formerly known as Twitter, and her response was incredible.
Biles let ESPNW know that she won four, not three, Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics after the sports news outlet tweeted an error about her stats, which they quickly fixed.
Seven years ago today, Simone Biles won the women’s vault final in Rio.
That night, Biles became the first U.S. female gymnast to win three gold medals at one Olympics, and later added a fourth with a flawless floor routine! 🥇🥇🥇🥇 pic.twitter.com/BipCJRTQvu

After seeing the post, the 26-year-old wasted no time setting the record straight.
Biles replied, “This is awkward…I won 4.” Biles’ quick response led ESPNW to reply to the “Greatest Of All Time” and apologize for the incident.
“Same page,” the account replied, adding a goat emoji. The newest update on their tweet acknowledges Biles’ four gold medals from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. She won three individual gold medals and her fourth with the United States team that year.
ESPNW should pay close attention because Biles is preparing for upcoming competitions. This month, in Chicago, she competed in the Core Hydration Classic and dominated with an overall score of 59.100 in her returning debut.
“Tears of joy as I make this comeback, surrounded by the love you’ve shown! thank you for believing in me,” Biles wrote.
