Simone Biles has broken yet another record. She became the most decorated female gymnast in history with 21 medals, while competing at this year’s World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany.
Retired Russian gymnast Svetlana Khorkina held the previous record at 20 medals.
Out of the 21 medals, 15 of them are gold, making her the gymnast with the most gold medals in World Championship history. And she's not done yet. Biles still has five more events to compete in, including the Women’s All-Around Final, and four individual events — vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. In other words, the 22-year-old could be walking away with 26 medals in the next few days.
With the team gold medal today, @Simone_Biles has 21 World medals, which is the most in women's gymnastics history! She also adds to her overall gymnastics record with her 15th gold!

Although she is the GOAT, Biles admits she still gets nervous before competing.
“I hate that feeling like I’m going to puke before. But, you know, we love the thrill of it. Reminds me to never give up because one day I won’t have the opportunity to get that feeling,” she told NBC Sports.
Her new record came after two moves were named after her — the double-double dismount from the beam and a triple-double on the floor. The International Gymnastics Federation didn’t want to credit the Olympian with the difficulty her moves deserve, but Biles simply laughed it off as Blavity previously reported.
Biles is expected to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
