Simone Biles appeared on the Today show to discuss her Valentine's Day engagement to NFL Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens.

During the interview, host Carson Daly asked Biles how her new engagement ring compares to Olympic medals.

"I have to ask. You have so much gold, Simone. The ring that you have now, does it match all the hardware that you have? The gold, the silver, does it clash?" Daly teasingly asked Biles as she laughed with Owens.

"It's definitely my most prized possession now and I'm always wearing it. … It definitely beats a gold medal," the gymnastic champion responded.

The couple also shared that they're already in the planning stages for the wedding.

"We started planning a little bit over the phone but … it's still in the process," Biles said.

The adorable couple also spoke about how their relationship developed and how they connected on Instagram in March 2020.

"We clicked really, really well in the beginning because we're athletes and we have the same busy schedules. But other than that, since it was kind of a COVID relationship, we're with each other 24/7. So I feel like now, when we're not with each other, it's almost weird. We're always texting or calling each other. It's kind of gross in a way," Biles told
Today.

Owens said he knew Biles was the one when his dog appeared to take well to the Olympian.

"My dog really loved her," Owens said, according to Today. "I could kind of see his face like, whenever I would pick my bookbag up in my apartment, he would think we're leaving to go to her place, so he would sprint to the front door. And I'd be like, 'Huh, you really like her!"'
