When it was announced that Biles withdrew from competing during the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, it was revealed that she had a case of the twisties, NPR reports.
Described as being “lost in air” and momentarily forgetting how to flip, Biles’ choice to withdraw led to speculation about her mental health.
“I have to focus on my mental health and well-being," she said, as Blavity previously reported.
Biles appears to be back to herself in the gym.
After the temporary setback, the seven-time Olympic medalist took to Instagram to post signs of renewed strength, as she pulled off impressive flips in the video.
The athlete captioned the Instagram post saying, “Did some flips the other day, just to make sure.”
In October, Biles appeared on Today and told host Hoda Kotb that not being able to execute her talent safely was "really crazy."
